Before you start your search to locate an inmate, first, you must already know a couple of things about the incarcerated person.
Is the inmate a federal or state inmate?
Do you have their full first and last name or inmate number?
For federal inmates, all inmates are stored in the federal inmate database. You can search by first and last name or by inmate number. The inmate’s first and last name are required fields, with the option to narrow your search results by filling out other additional information, such as race, age and sex.
Once you’ve entered the inmate’s information, your search results will populate. If you click on a single inmate, it will display their name, inmate number, location, age, race, sex, and release date.
